We focus on what matters most for young children: the right coaching, the right structure, and a learning journey that parents can clearly follow.
We focus specifically on the most important foundational years for movement, confidence, and skill development.
Our classes follow a clear pathway instead of random weekly drills.
Parents can better understand what their child is learning, how they are doing, and what comes next.
We use basketball to help children build confidence, discipline, resilience, focus, and learning habits.

At OG Basketball Academy, we believe basketball is more than a sport. It is a powerful tool for growth.
Our goal is not simply to teach children how to dribble or shoot. We help them build confidence, coordination, discipline, resilience, and the ability to learn through effort.
We focus especially on children aged 5 to 10, because these are the years when strong foundations — both physical and personal — are built.
In a world where information is increasingly easy to access, children need more than knowledge. They need the ability to focus, adapt, communicate, persist, and grow through challenge.
At OG Basketball Academy, we believe these are the qualities that will continue to matter — even in an AI-driven world.

Our coaching is guided by a structured development framework designed for young learners. OGSMART helps us teach children with clarity, progression, and purpose.
We first understand each child's current level, confidence, coordination, and class readiness.
We encourage children to learn through effort, patience, and consistent practice.
Children build strong basics in dribbling, shooting, footwork, and ball control.
We develop body control, balance, reaction, and athletic movement patterns.
Children learn how to use skills in simple game situations, not just isolated drills.
We help children become more coachable, confident, and able to recover from mistakes.
We support clearer parent communication and progress visibility over time.
Children learn best when training matches their stage of development. Our class pathway helps each child grow step by step.

Register InterestEvery trial class at OG Basketball includes a free written report from the coach — so you leave knowing exactly where your child stands and where they're headed.
What the report covers
We assess your child's coordination, balance, agility, and body control — the physical foundations that determine how quickly they'll develop on the court.
Beyond raw ability, we look at coachability, focus, effort, and how your child responds to instruction — often stronger indicators of long-term growth than skill level alone.
An honest snapshot of how your child performed in their first session — what stood out, what needs work, and how they engaged with the group and the coach.
A clear recommendation for which program level is the right starting point — with an explanation of why, so you can make a confident decision.
Parents should not have to guess what their child is learning. That is why we place strong emphasis on communication and progress visibility.
Parents receive clear updates on what was covered, what went well, and what to continue improving.
We take a more intentional approach to helping families understand each child's learning journey over time.
Children can be guided into the most suitable stage based on readiness, progress, and confidence.
We are currently developing smarter tools to help parents better understand their child's development journey at OG Basketball Academy. AI-supported progress tools are in development. Please stay tuned.
He founded OG Basketball because he saw children increasingly pressured — academically and socially — with little room to develop through sport. Having balanced elite basketball and academics entirely on his own from secondary school through university, he built a system that does not ask families to choose between the two.
His goal is not to produce professional athletes. It is to help every child find their direction — and to give families the clarity and guidance to support that journey.

Is OG Basketball suitable for complete beginners?
Yes — many of our students start with no basketball background at all. Our Fun Foundations program is designed specifically for beginners from age 4. We recommend a trial class so we can assess your child's starting point and suggest the right class.
How do I know which class level is right for my child?
The trial class is the best starting point — we assess your child's coordination, confidence, and movement, and provide a written report with our recommendation. You are welcome to WhatsApp us first if you'd like to discuss before booking.
How long are class packages valid?
All class packages are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.
When are classes cancelled?
Botanic Gardens classes are cancelled when it rains — no make-up is required for weather cancellations as this is an outdoor venue. All other classes run as scheduled except during our two planned rest periods per year: mid-year and year-end, when international school and government school holidays overlap. These dates are communicated in advance.
If we need to travel or my child misses a class, can we make it up?
Yes, make-up classes are available subject to availability. Botanic Gardens (daily classes): make-ups should be taken within the same month where possible. Once-weekly classes: make-ups should be scheduled within 4 weeks. Twice-weekly classes: make-ups should be scheduled within 2 weeks.
What is the refund policy?
We do not offer refunds unless the reason is directly caused by OG Basketball Academy. Medical / injury exceptions: please send supporting documentation to ogbasketballsg@gmail.com. Unused class credits can be transferred to a new, previously unregistered student. Relocation is not accepted as grounds for a refund, but we can help you switch to a more convenient venue.
What should my child bring to class?
Sports shoes with non-marking soles, comfortable athletic wear, and a water bottle. We recommend arriving 5 minutes early for the first class.
How does a child get selected for the Elite Program?
Selection is from existing OG Fundamental Growth and Pre-Advanced students. We look at readiness, commitment, attitude, and growth over time — not skill level alone. Every OG student has a genuine pathway to the Elite Program. Register your interest and we will be in touch when spaces become available.
What does the Elite Program include beyond basketball?
In addition to advanced basketball training and competition experience, Elite students receive personalised academic and life planning guidance directly from the head coach — including school pathway advice, DSA guidance, and goal-setting. This is based on his own experience navigating Singapore's education system as a competitive athlete.
Whether your child is a complete beginner or already has some foundation, we can help recommend the right starting point.
